process every six months. There isn’t a better
way to support sustainability and the community
at large than becoming engaged in a proactive
program similar to this one.
FAA is a champion of sustainability measures
as referenced in the agency’s Airport Master
Plan Advisory Circular. Recycling programs and
efficient building practices can, by their very
nature, call for collaboration and execution across
all airport departments. Companies with the most
robust sustainability programs can report results
of improved employee morale, more efficient
business processes, stronger public image and
increased employee loyalty.
What if you do nothing? The organization
that does nothing stays stagnant. The “business
as usual” approach will not carry airports into
the future. A sustainable process has benefits
past energy efficiency and monetary savings.
Engaged employees and increased morale result
from a sustainable program. Identification with
sustainability goals in your mission statement
will link your airport to the community and build
positive brand value.
