The Numbers Are In
In 2015 airlines in North America flew 798.4 million passengers a total 902.4 billion revenue passenger miles on airplanes with load factors
of 83.8%. Airports reported traffic increases ranging from 2.3% to more than 11.0%.
How can they continue to handle all of these passengers at increasingly crowded airports?
One answer is to expand the gate facilities – but that takes a lot of time and a lot of money. Another answer is the use of off-gate aircraft
parking on hardstands. This is a proven, cost-effective system of accommodating a greater quantity of flights and passengers without
having to construct additional gates.
COBUS Airport People Moving Buses provide the link between the hardstands and the aircraft terminals. Passengers are
transported quickly, safely and comfortably to and from their flights. More than 20 airports in North America employ an
excess of 200 COBUS buses, and more than 3,500 COBUS buses have been sold to 325+ airports worldwide!
