HMSHost and the PGA Tour announced that the first PGA Tour
Grill, a joint venture between the two companies, will be located
at San Diego International Airport. The restaurant is slated to
open in December 2013 and will be located in Terminal 2 West.
PGA Tour Grill is a PGA Tour-themed restaurant with a focus on
tournaments, players and initiatives. Interactive iPads feature golf
tips and menus highlighting information on the healthy content
of the food and tasting and varietal information on the wines. …
MarketPlace Development, a real estate firm that specializes in
airport retail projects, announced it has signed a contract with the
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA). MarketPlace
will serve as the overall retail and concessions management company for both Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington
Dulles International airports. MarketPlace will be responsible for
the marketing, leasing and management of the retail and food and
beverage programs at both airports. Reagan National has 66,000
square feet of retail space and 93 concessions locations; Dulles has
90,000 square feet of retail space and 114 concessions locations.
MarketPlace said it will work with MWAA to improve and revitalize

the offerings by bringing new national, regional and local brands to
both airports. The official contract between MarketPlace and MWAA
began Jan. 1, 2013. … Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is
getting a makeover in its retail shopping. HG-St. Louis JV, a joint
venture of travel retailer Hudson Group, formally began its 10-year
contract with Lambert on Feb. 1 for the airport’s news, gift and
specialty retail concessions. Hudson will reopen a majority of the
existing retail locations currently operated by The Paradies Shops.
Over the next five months, Hudson will build out 13 locations fea-
turing top national brands and exclusive local concepts as well. …
Airport concession developer Airmall USA, operator of the Airmall
at Pittsburgh International Airport, has launched the first phase of a
year-long construction project that will result in the most significant
overhaul of the concessions program since the airport opened in
1992. Construction crews in January began work on five new retail
units in the Center Core of the Airmall between concourses A and
B. They also have begun preparing other concessions space in the
Center Core for future development. In total, the development work
to be completed during the first phase of the project encompasses
6,000 square feet of retail space. This initial phase is part of a $10
million upgrade to the entire concessions program at the airport.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is
the oldest and largest privately held specialty coffee and tea retailer
in the U.S. with more than 850 stores in 24 countries.
